Day 1 : Departure day

Travelling with kids is never easy…

The morning arrived and we were READY for our family trip to BALI! Bags, boards, on board activities & boardies packed with kids in tow. We had an early morning, excited kids and an adventure within our sights – in this excitement and even though we have done this a good number of times .. I still managed to forget the kids airplane meals and that made for ratty hungry kids.

But once we arrived in Denpassar the True Blue ground handler was ready and waiting, making the transition from airport to our accommodation a breeze! (phew!)

(TIP – Always arrange your arrival transfer ahead of time… True Blue ground handlers always collect with a smile, an air-con bus, board racks or transport, an ice cold bottle of water, a free local SIM card & welcome flower wreath on arrival.)

Once we had collected our boards & bags we were whisked off to our first amazing lodge – K2 lodge located on the cliffs of the Bukit Peninsular (about 30kms from the airport).

K2 has some of the BEST views in Bali, two amazing waves right in front, rim flow pool & air-con rooms from R 1 000 for two Including Breakfast!

Making it the perfect place to chill out for the first few days when you need to acclimatize to the tropical lifestyle of Bali.

We dropped our bags off and headed straight to the beach! Where we enjoyed our traditional first snack of Millies and Bintang’s on the beach for sun-downers while Kodi & Ryder got rid of their pent up energy from sitting on an airplane for numerous hours.

There is some swell around and tomorrow… I’m going SURFING!
