Every destination has something unique and spectacular about it, there is beauty in everything. You just have to learn to see it, here are some of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bali that you will ever see.
- Sekumpul Waterfall
In Indonesian Sekumpul means group and it fits this place so well as instead of one waterfall, there are seven. All scattered around the hike and the tallest reaching more than 50 meters high. It isn’t an easy trail but couldn’t be more worth it.
Directions: Travel from Denpasar to the Singaraja region and to the village of Sekumpul. The drive takes around 2 hours, and is well signed.
Entrance fee: Rp 10,000.
- Banyumala Twin Waterfall
Located in Wanagiri district near Lake Buyan the beauty of the twin waterfalls can be overwhelming, it is recommend getting a local who knows his way around this remote area to guide you.
Directions: Desa Pakraman Wanagiri, Kec. Sukasada, Sambangan, Kec. Buleleng, Buleleng, Bali
- Nungnung Waterfall
In a small viallage in the middle of nowhere you will find the waterfall 900meter about sea level, at the bottom of a gorge. You will have to climb down 509 steps to see the remarkable site, as they say all good things come to those who wait, the climb down will be rewarding. I promise.
Direction: Travel about 90 minutes towards Sangeh. The village of Nungnung is about 45 kilometres from Denpasar with clear sinage.
Entrance fee: Rp 3,000 (the proceeds go to its upkeep).
- Aling-Aling Twin waterfalls
The most unique thing about this waterfall that makes it so different from the rest is that this waterfall has created a natural water slide, what more could you want from mother nature?
Directions: Drive from Singaraja to the village of Sambangan, there should be road signs but asking a local may help as it isn’t visited that often.
- Tegenungan Waterfall
In the highlands of the mountains this waterfall is unique for its lush green surrounding and heavy water flow.
Directions: Drive from Denpasar to the Tegenungan Kemenuh village, in Gianyar. The drive is just 16 kilometres about 30 minutes. However the falls remain quite isolated and you will need to descent hundreds of steps along the bank of the River Tukad Petanu to reach it.
Entrance fee: Rp 10,000
- Yeh Mampeh Waterfall
Escape the crowded citites and tourist, travel to a small village called Les to find this beauty. Yeh Mampeh means flying water in Balinese, which is the perfect representation of this untouched waterfall.
Directions: Travel through Kintamani and towards Singaraja, before turning off at the junction between Jalan Raja Singaraja and Amlapura. There are roadside signs that point the way to Les and the waterfall.
Entrance fee: Rp 2,500
- Blemantung Waterfall
Only enjoyed by dedicated travllers this tucked away waterfall is a lushes green spot. 50metere high and the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh rainforest air, as well as smell the coffee aromas, as this waterfall is hidden away among many coffee plantations.
Directions: Drive around 75 kilometres about 2 hours from Denpasar to the Pujungan village in the district of Pupuan. From the village, the way to the waterfall is well signed, and the walk from the parking area is just 200 metres.
- Peguyangan Waterfall, Nusa Penida
This waterfall is made up of short series of cascading spring fountains that eventully meet there way into the sea, Reaching the springs involves a descent down narrow stairs against the wall of the ravine. After some 460 steps, the gorgeous sight of the cascades is both exhilarating and rewarding.
Directions: This waterfall is tricky to find. Visit Peguyangan, arrange a tour with a knowledgeable Penida tour operator, or hire a private driver on the island who knows how to reach this hidden paradise.
- Jembong Waterfall
Although the falls isn’t very high, its gentle slope and beautiful green jungle surrounding make it a beautiful place. Worth visiting the unspoiled beauty of this waterfall.
Directions: Getting to Jembon Waterfall takes about 2.5 hours from Denpasar, a distance of around 70 km. Simply travel towards the Singaraja regency, and past Git Git Waterfall. Signage is not often clear, and you may need to ask for directions.
- Carat Waterfall, Bali
Located in the village of Tamblang, near the North Bali capital of Singaraja, the falls are accessible via a path around half a kilometre from the main Singaraja road, comprising rickety bamboo bridges over a small stream and dirt trails through local village coffee and clove plantations. The towering falls are sandwiched by rocky crags and are approximately hundred metres tall.
