The Nias Surfers Camp is your ideal guesthouse for an ultimate Nias adventure. Enjoy one of seven very clean bedrooms each with private bath, excellent menu packages, numerous leisure amenities and access to the legendary Nias break is at your doorstep. A very experienced and hospitable local family owns and operates the Surf Camp. Local surfers have opened their home to surfers since 2003. Timmy has been working surf charters since 1997 on some of the most reputable boats in and around the Mentawai’s, Telo’s, Banyak and Nias. Photography is one of Timmy’s passions. He will document your surf adventure with advanced photography equipment.

WAVES

The perfect right hander at Sorake bay on the island of Nias was the first world class wave discovered in the Sumatra region. Nias was first surfed in 1975, by Aussie surfers.
The APRIL 28th EARTHQUAKE has blessed Nias region, raising the hide tide mark and IMPROVING wave quality barrel, as the waves pick-up any swell size and surfable on all Tides!
Its broad exposure towards the vast, southern Indian Ocean provides these majestic islands with remarkableconsistency and quality year round. The goal is to provide the average surfer the opportunity to score the best waves of their lives.
The Indicator it just above Main break of Nias, also goes off on its day, as you can see in the right side from the lounge of the camp.

The Machine is only 5 minute ride by motorbike from surf camp.

The 8-frame DP, by Hiliduha village, is one of the most high performance waves in the Nias Islands. The wave itself starts breaking in too way left and right over reef, Fantastic left and right barrels.

Walo Hiu- A world class left hander which can produce an epic 5-10 second barrel depending on swell and wind direction.

Sobatu is a thick, barreling right punctuated by a shifting line-up. Sobatu is a sizable Right-hander that is known as one of the “big wave” spots in the Nias island.

Rockstar is one of the most high performance waves in the Nias Islands.
