Join An Epic Surf Trip | Maldives September 2015

  • Post category:Blog

Join Spike from Wavescape in partnership with True Blue Travel and 8 other salty sea dogs on a special surf trip to the Maldives next year to learn how to forecast swell … oh … and to surf your brains out.

The North Male Atolls of the Maldives are renowned for excellent surf, especially towards the end of winter and early spring when the weather systems in the Indian Ocean begin to create the right groundswells for this quadrant of the ocean.

This trip – earmarked for 8 days in early September 2015 – includes ongoing consultancy with Spike, as well as an audio visual presentation about swell generation that caters particularly for the tropical reaches of Indonesia and the Maldives.

Spike will also write and publish an article on Wavescape, with exclusive photos taken by a photographer who will be on board to capture that magic moment when you’re getting barrelled off your pip.

Deposits of approx R6,500 pp will be required to book and secure the boat and your places, with the discounted rate dependent on a booking before end of November 2014. Balance can be paid next year. A provisional date is between 2 and 10 September 2015. This is to gauge interest and to see if there are any takers.

This fascinating, graphical journey also brings home the catastrophic power of nature. Forecasting insights give it a unique perspective with appeal to all ocean users or interested parties.
