My name is Chris Bertish and I need your help!
For the past 10 years I have dedicated my life to pursuing and riding some of the most challenging waves on the planet, and with your
assistance I want to take the South African flag even further.

I have recently been invited to some really big invitational only events
for 2009/2010, namely:

The 2009/2010 Mavericks Big Wave International in Half Moon Bay, Northern California.(Event waiting period Nov-Feb)
The Nelscott Big Wave Paddle Invitational in Oregon.
I have also been invited to represent South Africa in the first ever Stand Up Paddle surfing World Championships, to be held in Hawaii.
This year has been pretty tough and getting enough sponsorship together to go over and compete abroad and stay for the full duration of the events has really been a problem, but as a South African, we make a plan when things get tough and we find a way…we take on the challenge head on and find a solution.

I am so honoured to be invited to these events and really think I have a good chance of causing some upsets and flying our flag high, however we all know that getting enough sponsorship in RSA is difficult, especially with the current exchange rate and to stay over there for the duration of these events is pretty costly and that’s where I am hoping you can help�

I am offering Sponsorship on my surfboards. Two sizes, Big, or small, your donation will assure your name or Company name/brand will be added on a space on the surface of my surfboards. They will become a canvas of South African “Can-Do spirit” and show the world of surfing that our country get’s behind it’s athletes and Saffas can take on the world anytime, anywhere.

I am also having a Fundraiser event for my “Please-Sponsor-Chris-Bertish initiative”, on Sunday afternoon/evening the 11th of October, just after the Rocking the Daisies, but in Cape Town, as a Hawaiian/Carribean evening, Jazz band, Big Outdoor Surf film screening, Raffle & an Auction.
