Day 1
Left Cape Town at 1345pm excited and ready for my Maldives experienced on Thursday afternoon, first fabulous surprise is that i got bumped up to business class. Wow. Most incredible way to travel.
3 course lunch. My own bed. Lots of french champagne. Gifts. Comfort and a amazing way to start my trip.
Flew for almost 10 hours to get to Dubai. 3 hours in Dubai airport enjoying a iced star bucks and a rather expensive R187 Bulmer and then another flight of 3h35 flying to arrive into Male and be greeted with 90% humidity and 30 degree weather. Flying into Male is nothing short of incredible as you see all crystal clear blue water and islands.
Spent about 45 minutes in Male to board another 30 minute flight to get to our first island .
Then a bus ride to speedboat. Then a speedboat transfer of 20 minutes.
So all in all have been In 3 planes, 3 airports 1 boat and approximately 20 hours of travelling & I am finally in paradise ….was all worth it?
Central Grand Resort is spectacular. My day has been spent swimming in beautiful clear warm waters. Snorkeling watching the most spectacular sea life, so many cocktails to choose from, a amazing thai dinner and a night cap at the restaurant listening to the locals music.
All in all what a start to my first night here and I can’t wait to see what the next 4 nights have in store.
After not sleeping much since 6 am Thursday morning I have a feeling this 5 star bed is going to be a great end to my perfect day X
Day 2: Grand Centara was a real treat. we enjoyed the amazing sea life. Watched them feeding sharks and stingrays. Plus all the yummy cuisine. Check out in the afternoon was windy and bit overcast on departure was a pity. Due to the weather it delayed rest of our afternoon. Were meant to speedboat to the airport and fly to Male but got delayed 6 hours so only arrived back in Male at 7pm then took a speedboat which was a rough trip to Grand Ras Fushi arriving in the dark after 8pm. Rushed straight to dinner and enjoyed a wonderful set menu with lots of laughs and good company. Highlights of the day were being told we were checked into water villas! !!!
DAY 3 A day of relaxation Too much delicious food. A lot of swimming suntanning, tried to SUP but conditions were too rough. Got burnt enjoyed watching a beach wedding take place and in the late afternoon the rain came in. Our water villa is incredible even if it does sway from side to side at times. Dinner was enjoyed at the thai restaurant and nightcap at the Viu bar.
