True Blue Surf and Island Travels Mate and fellow Traveller,  KICKS ass and cleans up at the Mavericks Invitational 2014. Grand Twig Baker was a man on fire , and his determination and preperation pay off as he smokes the world best in massive , heaving Mavericks.

Winning all his heats , and getting the waves of the event, Twig was never in trouble , and had the final in the bag after 20 Minutes … and basically combo’s everyone. Well done to our PROUD SAFFA Big wave double Champ.

And its awesome to see and hear his passion for South Africa, and his great punt on air for fellow SAFFA surfer Chris Bertish.

Chris was not so lucky and got Cleaned in the first 6 minutes along with Mark Healy and Jamie Sterling. All 3 got caught inside by a MEGA MONSTER MAVERICKS DEATH BOWL – im calling 25 foot plus ( 40 foot face)

None of these guys recovered …..all three got smashed, lost boards , got held down , got POMPED! all three looked out of it afterwards and none recovered to ride PROPER waves again, and all three did not advance….. OH WELL … thats big wave surfing. Chrispy was smiling afterwards and laughed about it – and called Twigy as the  the winner of the event before the semi finished already! NICE ONE SAFFA BOYS!!!!!
